What made you become an entrepreneur?

Suzanne Molloy: I’ve always been passionate about financial innovation and saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the emerging digital asset space. While working at Falcon Private Bank—the first bank to offer crypto products—I witnessed firsthand both the potential and the challenges of integrating digital assets into regulated financial services. This experience, combined with my background in banking and wealth management, inspired me to create Greengage. My goal was to build a platform that provides SMEs with access to the financial tools they need, leveraging technology while maintaining strong regulatory standards.

What is the most challenging part of running your own startup?

Suzanne Molloy: One of the biggest challenges is securing investment and raising funds while navigating the evolving regulatory landscape. In the digital finance space, balancing innovation with compliance is critical, but it can also make attracting investors more complex. Building trust with both regulators and clients takes time, and ensuring sustainable growth while managing funding cycles adds another layer of difficulty. Despite these challenges, the opportunity to drive meaningful change in the financial sector makes the journey incredibly rewarding.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced when looking for funding?

Suzanne Molloy: Many investors remain cautious about digital finance and crypto-related businesses due to regulatory uncertainty, even when the fundamentals are strong. Educating investors on the long-term potential of our business while demonstrating robust compliance and risk management has been essential. Additionally, balancing the timing of funding rounds with market conditions and maintaining momentum while raising capital presents an ongoing challenge.

What is the most rewarding aspect of entrepreneurship?

Suzanne Molloy: Starting a new business and seeing it grow and make a real impact is incredibly rewarding. At Greengage, we’re shaping the future of digital finance by bridging traditional banking with innovative financial solutions. Whether it’s securing key partnerships with industry bodies, helping SMEs access financial services, or driving industry change—is what makes the journey worthwhile. The ability to innovate, solve complex challenges, and work with a talented team who shares the same vision is what makes it worthwhile.
