Tell us about your company.

CEO: Turnipp is building a one-stop ecosystem for ethical dining and sustainable living. Our platform connects eco-conscious consumers with verified sustainable restaurants, hotels, and retailers. Every booking or purchase made through Turnipp creates a positive environmental and social impact.

We believe sustainability should be integrated into everyday choices. With Turnipp, searching for restaurants near me or food near me becomes more than convenience becomes an opportunity to dine well and do good.

What made you become an entrepreneur?

CEO: I’m a serial impact entrepreneur, motivated by building companies that combine profitability with purpose. My journey began in commodities trading, where I saw the profound effect of energy and resource decisions on communities and the environment. That experience inspired me to explore solutions that address climate change and promote sustainable living.

I went on to found Zeigo, a clean energy tech platform simplifying renewable energy contracts, which was acquired by Schneider Electric. Later, I launched Renewable to democratise renewable energy procurement.

Turnipp is the next step in this journey leveraging AI to connect conscious diners with sustainable businesses and making sustainability effortless for everyday consumers.

What is the most challenging part of running your own startup?

CEO: There are many challenges, but one of the biggest is innovating while building a profitable business.

We are integrating advanced technologies like AI while ensuring that sustainability remains at the forefront. Balancing innovation, mission, and profitability is a fine line every impact-driven startup must navigate.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced when looking for funding?

CEO: The hardest part has been convincing investors of the potential in a niche market with limited competition. To gain trust, we need to provide clear evidence of demand, scalability, and long-term value. Demonstrating that Turnipp is not only a good idea but also a scalable business model has been key.

What is the most rewarding aspect of entrepreneurship?

CEO: For me, the most rewarding part is solving meaningful problems. I have been an entrepreneur for 12 years, and every project I’ve pursued has been about creating solutions with real impact whether for people, communities, or the planet.

With Turnipp, the most fulfilling thing is seeing an idea evolve into something that improves lives, changes behaviours, and contributes to a sustainable future. The opportunity to combine purpose, creativity, and impact is what keeps me motivated every day.
