In this edition, we present you Sensars, a MedTech company on a mission to restore natural sensation for people living with diabetic neuropathy. Their groundbreaking device, SENSY, helps prevent ulcers, falls, and amputations by giving patients back the ability to feel their feet. We spoke to the founder of Sensars to find out more.

Tell us about your company.
At Sensars, we are tackling one of the most devastating complications of diabetes: the loss of sensation in the feet. This silent condition, known as diabetic neuropathy, makes patients vulnerable to ulcers, infections, falls, amputations, and chronic pain.
Our solution is SENSY, a thin insole paired with a tiny electrode inside the nerve. The insole measures each step and transmits information to the electrode, which restores communication with the brain. Patients don’t notice the insole but they do notice the return of natural sensation: feeling the ground, walking safely, and regaining independence.
With over 260 million people affected worldwide, our mission is clear: to stop preventable amputations and give people back their confidence and quality of life.
What made you become an entrepreneur?
The journey was deeply personal. A close family friend of my father-in-law passed away due to diabetes complications, and I saw firsthand the devastating impact not only on the patient but on the entire family. That experience gave me a strong sense of purpose: to build solutions that don’t just manage disease, but truly change patients’ lives. That’s how Sensars was born.
What is the most challenging part of running your own startup?
In the beginning, the toughest challenge was wearing too many hats managing science, business, fundraising, and operations all at once. Over time, I learned to delegate, trust the team, and focus on what truly moves the company forward.
Another lesson was resilience. Rejection is part of the journey, but each “no” became fuel to adapt and improve. Surrounding myself with experienced mentors who had built companies before also helped us avoid mistakes and grow faster.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced when looking for funding?
One of the steepest learning curves was learning how to tell our story. Coming from a research background, I had to simplify complex science into a clear, compelling message that resonates with any audience. By showing progress consistently and following up with discipline, we’ve built trust and opened doors to new opportunities.
What is the most rewarding aspect of entrepreneurship?
The most rewarding moment is seeing patients experience what we have built. When someone who has lived with numbness suddenly feels sensation again, it’s not just medicine at work it’s dignity and hope being restored. That transformation makes every late night and uphill battle worthwhile.
