Updated: 1 day ago

In this edition, we present Holifya, which is transforming how Europe tackles metabolic health conditions through a fast, personalized, and digital-first approach. With its innovative platform, Holifya eliminates long wait times by offering rapid access to specialist doctors, diagnostic services, and personalized treatment plans, all delivered within 48 hours. By accelerating access to care for chronic conditions like obesity, diabetes, and hypertension, Holifya enhances clinical outcomes, improves patient engagement, and sets a new standard for scalable, tech-enabled healthcare delivery across Europe.

Tell us about your company.

Alessandra: Holifya is a digital-first health clinic addressing the growing metabolic health crisis in Europe. We started in Italy, where the current healthcare system makes it extremely difficult for people with chronic conditions like obesity, diabetes, and hypertension to access timely care. Our solution is a cloud-based platform that integrates licensed specialist doctors, real-time diagnostics, 24/7 support, and personalized health plans—all accessible in just a couple of days, not months. We’re currently focused on medical weight-loss, but our scope is expanding quickly to include broader metabolic health, longevity medicine, and women’s health. Our goal is to make high-quality, science-backed care available and scalable, with the goal of improving one million lives by the end of 2030.

What made you become an entrepreneur?

Alessandra: I became an entrepreneur because I wanted to build, not just consult. I come from a family of doctors and researchers who’ve dedicated their careers to metabolic health. Growing up, I saw how many powerful insights from medical science never made it into real-world care. That disconnect became my motivation. Entrepreneurship gave me the tools to translate science into practical solutions, to create something from scratch that could bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and the people who actually need it. That’s what Holifya is about: turning knowledge into action.

What is the most challenging part of running your own startup?

Alessandra: Managing uncertainty while keeping the team aligned and inspired. Startups move fast, and we’re constantly faced with high-stakes decisions made with limited data. We have to balance short-term execution with a long-term vision, while still making sure the culture remains strong and the mission clear. It’s a constant mental and emotional balancing act.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced when looking for funding?

Alessandra: The biggest hurdle has been finding investors who are truly aware of the complexity and potential of healthcare innovation. We’ve had strong interest, but healthcare isn’t like consumer tech, it takes time, evidence, and patience. Fortunately, we’ve started building relationships with investors who recognize that building a category-defining company takes discipline and long-term vision. We’ve already raised 50% of our €3M Seed Round and are currently seeking a €1–1.5M lead or co-lead investor to help us scale.

What is the most rewarding aspect of entrepreneurship?

Alessandra: The most rewarding part is seeing the impact on real people, real lives. When a patient tells us that Holifya helped them regain control over their health, their energy, and their confidence, that’s incredibly fulfilling. That’s why we do what we do. Equally meaningful is watching our team grow. We're building not just a product or a business, but a culture of ambition, compassion, and ownership. Seeing young talent step into leadership roles and knowing Holifya played a part in that journey is incredibly rewarding.
