Startup of the week: Cosmic Studios
Tell us about your company.
Cosmic Studios is an independent film studio focused on developing premium, globally marketable science fiction and fantasy intellectual property.
Our strategy is to build enduring entertainment franchises by combining compelling original storytelling with experienced Hollywood leadership and disciplined financial structuring. Rather than producing one-off films, our goal is to develop scalable IP that can expand into sequels, television, streaming, gaming, licensing and merchandising.
The company is led by an executive team with decades of experience across film production, finance and global distribution.
What makes Cosmic different?
One of our greatest strengths is the experience of our leadership.
Our CEO, David, previously served as CEO of Universal Studios, bringing decades of senior leadership experience within one of the world’s most recognized entertainment companies.
That experience provides investors with confidence that Cosmic is being built with the operational discipline and industry relationships necessary to compete internationally.
Rather than chasing trends, our strategy is to create timeless fantasy and science fiction properties capable of becoming long-term entertainment brands.
Have you already produced films or is the company new?
Cosmic Studios is a newly established production company.
While the company itself is new, our leadership team brings extensive experience across film production, entertainment, finance and business development.
Our focus is on acquiring and developing high-quality intellectual property while assembling world-class creative and production teams for our inaugural slate.
Are you focused on movies or television?
Our initial focus is feature films.
However, every project is evaluated for franchise potential, including opportunities for television, streaming series, animation, interactive media and merchandising where appropriate.
Our objective is to build entertainment brands rather than individual productions.
What is your first production?
Our first planned production is an original fantasy feature inspired by the enduring global success of premium fantasy franchises.
Rather than simply creating another standalone film, we are developing an original universe designed to support multiple films and long-term franchise opportunities.
(If you want to include the actual project name, this would be the place.)
Are you raising from one investor or multiple investors?
We are currently raising capital through a private investment round and welcome participation from multiple qualified investors.
Our objective is to build a diversified investor base consisting of family offices, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, private investment groups and strategic partners.
This structure allows investors to participate while reducing concentration risk and creating a broader long-term ownership network.
Do you have financial projections?
Yes.
We have developed financial models covering production budgets, financing structures, expected revenue streams and long-term franchise opportunities.
These projections are available to qualified investors during the due diligence process following the execution of appropriate confidentiality documentation.
